Life Update

 So...I haven't updated since April. Mostly due to family stuff and then I never got my routine back, so let's try again.

Since then 

• I quit my terrible job
• Got a new job that was excellent
• Got funding to work on a new novel as soon as that contract ended at the start of October
• Had my second novel published
• Finished my third novel
• Did some radio work
• Dyed my hair pink
• Taught a terrible cohort for the creative writing course
• Started teaching a really good cohort!
• Got invited by the British Council to Brussels to come and give a talk and a reading and it was the best experience ever

Now I'm working on edits for the anthology, making slow but steady progress on AFTER THE SKY (the standalone historical novel I got funding for) and a gothic horror for Nanowrimo. Lola is doing a TV screenwriting MA and working on her fifth book and god, somehow we have writing careers? This feels bizarre. 

I'm also undergoing fertility treatment - less for fertility issues, per se, and more for the total lack of sperm in my cis lesbian marriage. Tomorrow I have to be at the fertility clinic in Glasgow for 7:45 am for blood tests and that delightful experience, a transvaginal ultrasound. 

I'm going to try and actually update this damn thing on a regular basis again - if anyone wants me to put fertility stuff behind a cut, let me know.
